In this session, frontline workers will have an opportunity to learn how to apply anti-Indigenous racism and anti-Black racism strategies and tactics in their interventions with individuals, families, and communities in a holistic manner. The applications will take into account the ways of knowing and being that are respectful of culture, spirituality, connections to the land, gender and sexual expression. This includes learning to identify, name, describe and then dismantle anti-Black racism, anti-Indigenous racism, bias and discrimination in their daily practice. Frontline workers will learn to ask critical questions and identify possible solutions to a situation based on Indigenous worldviews and Afrocentric principles. Finally, they will learn strategies for working across intersections and tips for self-care.
