O wydarzeniu

Join us for an enlightening panel discussion tackling Anti-Asian Racism within the Caribbean Diaspora. This event brings together diverse voices from the Asian Caribbean community to share untold stories, explore the intersections of identity, and confront prevalent biases. Our panelists will delve into the complexities of being Asian within the Caribbean context, addressing systemic challenges and fostering empowerment. Join this vital conversation to amplify voices, challenge stereotypes, and work towards a more inclusive society. RSVP to secure your spot for this impactful discussion.

Following the meeting will be a performance, "What Can Indian Look Like? Can It look Caribbean?", written by Shaharah Gaznabbi.  This play was featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023.

What Can Indian Look Like? Can It Look Caribbean? Is a love letter to Shaharah’s family. Shaharah embodies each member of their family as they reflect on conversations uncovering the political unspoken truths about Caribbean colonisation, what it's like to feel like the wrong shade of brown, and navigating the intersection of being queer and muslim.
